ABOUT US

Patrick, not raised in church, trusted Christ as a young Air Force airman serving in Iceland, 1990-1992. Vicki, raised in church, trusted Christ as a child in the AWANA program. They met at Trinity Baptist College in Jacksonville, Florida. After graduation, they spent just under two years on deputation, reaching Iceland in the fall of 1999. Their son Clayton, two years old, and their son William, eight months old, moved to Iceland with them. Their daughter Rosa was born in Iceland in 2001. They have served as a family, planting a church among the Icelandic-speaking people from the beginning.

In 2006, the pastor of the military church left Iceland when the military members left the country, but voted Patrick in as the pastor of the few immigrant members left. They also left a large, incomplete building project. For the past twenty years, Patrick oversaw the completion of the building and has built the foreign membership of the church, which is now reaching out to the Icelandic community. Although a form of the Bible exists in Icelandic, the translation is missing many parts or contains mistranslations. Patrick has spent years translating the New Testament and plans to continue to do so until he finishes. Vicki is working to establish the first Baptist Christian school in Iceland.

Clayton has decided to stay in Iceland. He works full time as a forklift operator at our local lumber yard. At church, he financially supports the ministry, teaches the 5th-6th grade Icelandic children, and faithfully helps in any way that he can.

William married Phyllis, a lady from Germany who moved to Iceland as a teenager, visited our church, was saved and baptized in our ministry, and serves faithfully with William. William received his B.A. in Church Ministries and his B.S. in Secondary Education from Veritas Baptist College. Phyllis received her B.A. in Icelandic from the University of Iceland. As Patrick focuses more of his time on the Bible translation, William is taking more church responsibilities with the plan to become the lead missionary.

Rosa moved to the U.S. after high school and received her B.S in Criminal Justice from Trinity Baptist College. While there, she met Dylan Siekbert. They are happily married, serving the Lord as members of Kerwin Baptist Church in Kernersville, N.C., and have given Patrick and Vicki their first grandbaby, Toby Clayton.
